Asphalt Testing & Mix Design Verification

UDOT Superpave certified technicians, ASTM D-3666 compliant lab, and the field gauges to verify density on the day of paving.

Overview

Paving fails when the wrong number gets recorded — or the right number gets recorded too late. Our asphalt program covers the full workflow: from initial mix-design verification and aggregate gradation through Marshall and Superpave volumetrics, in-place density, and field cores. We run a dedicated bituminous lab certified to ASTM D-3666 and staffed with UDOT Superpave-certified technicians.

Capabilities

Superpave Mix Design
Volumetric verification, gyratory compaction, and air voids per UDOT and AASHTO standards.
Marshall Mix Design
Marshall stability, flow, and density testing for legacy and rural specifications.
Field Density
Nuclear density (D2950) and core density (D6927) with same-day field reports.
Aggregate Testing
Gradation, sand equivalent, fine aggregate angularity, and L.A. Abrasion.
Asphalt Content
Ignition oven (D6307) and extraction (D2172) with quantitative recovery.
Plant Inspection
Plant calibration verification, batch inspection, and material certification.
